Jim Hart is a 25-plus years Computer and Consumer Electronics industry veteran. A senior-level sales and marketing professional, with a proven track record for delivering profitable sales and building effective sales organizations for both products and services, marketed direct to the retail/reseller channel, e-commerce sites, two-step distribution, direct Internet sales and Fortune 1000 corporations.
Currently, as the Principal of Hart Sales and Marketing, he's offering companies his expansive expertise in developing effective channel sales and marketing plans that produce results. After establishing Hart Sales and Marketing, he has worked on a number of diverse projects from developing an Internet-based Tax and Revenue Stamp service for the Treasury Department of Puerto Rico (www.eColecturia.com), to helping establish one of the first national manufacturers representative companies.
In the role of Vice President of Sales at Neopost Online he effectively re-launched their Internet postage product, "Simply Postage PROmail", in the retail channel, as well as leading a successful direct marketing effort inside the retail outlets of the United States Postal Service. This resulted in three times the number of new customer acquisitions, compared to the competition with merchandise displays in the same Post Offices. With the current "dot com" fallout, the Neopost Simply Postage product remains the most viable SOHO Internet postage solution.
Mr. Hart was also a key member of the management team of eCommercial.com, an e-mail direct marketing start-up that has now become a leading Application Service Provider (ASP) of electronic brochures that can be delivered by e-mail or downloaded from a web site. In the role of Vice President of Channel Sales, he was responsible for all sales into the computer and e-commerce channels. This included direct relationships with high tech corporations, along with traditional distribution and reseller partnerships.
Before starting Hart Sales and Marketing he was Director of Reseller Sales at Alps Electric and successfully launched their line of Micro Dry color printers in the computer retail and VAR channels.
Starting back in 1989, Mr. Hart worked his way through the sales ranks at the Kensington Technology Group from a Regional Manager to National Accounts Manager and eventually becoming their Director of Sales after a relocation to California in 1995. He was strategically involved with the launch of a number of new products, from mice to carrying cases, along with other well-known computer accessories, including their extremely successful MicroSaver computer lock, which utilizes the now universal Kensington Security Slot. During his tenure at KTG, he continually increased sales while expanding their overall distribution channels and bringing on new national accounts and distributors, such as Best Buy and Tech Data.
Prior to Kensington Mr. Hart spent ten years in the Consumer Electronics industry beginning his sales career as an independent manufacturers representative for a top New York rep firm, managing key customers in the New York Metropolitan area. He went on to hold key account positions with Quasar, Plantronics and Uniden America Corp.
Mr. Hart has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair State University.
